Ever since I was little I’ve been OBSESSED with art supplies. I blame my aunt for this. She had a whole room in her house dedicated to art supplies. It was my wonderland. I always felt like it was my own personal craft store. We would spend hours scrapbooking, jewelry making, building teacups and saucers with hand rolled grapes out of clay, or just making a mess. I loved that room so much I was determined to have my own space just like it. I begged my mom to let me turn a cabinet in our game room into my “studio”. After lots of pleading she agreed and I finally had a place of my own for all my art supplies, markers, paints, gel pens, stickers, stickers and more stickers. I’ll never forget my first studio. It was small, full of really crappy paint, and tons of glittery stickers but it fostered my love for my supplies. To this day, there’s nothing I love more than buying new art supplies.
To Aunt Stephanie: Thank you for always encouraging me to play, explore and create. I am the artist I am today because of you.
